I'm Trilo (short for Trilobyte), which is my nickname in real life as well. I've lived in LA for a couple years now (moved from New York), and in the time I've been here I've frequented the likes of Bar Sinister, Dungeon, Perversion, and Miss Kitty's. Not so much in the last 6 months, as I was first planning for my first trip to Burning Man (which turned out to be not a bunch of hippies camping in the desert eating seeds and wearing hemp clothing after all... whew), and in the months since I've been recovering physically as well as financially.

For you dark burners out there I'm fortunate enough to be in two camps - one is Space Island and one is a tiny camp that has no name but we had the angel/devil symbols on our playa gifts & camp signage.

The event I'm organizing for Saturday night (which I hope you can make it out to after Bar Sinister closes) is a fundraiser for my angel/devil camp. I'm taking Burning Man culture and a big slice of industrial/alternative/goth/fetish culture and combining the two. I think it's going to work out well, and I think it's something that either LA's never seen, or hasn't seen in a long time.

Hello everyone! My name is Sue and it's been awhile since I've been out in the scene. I spent a lot of time at Spike's this last year at BM. Love that place!!! Back in the day I used to frequent Stigmata, Perversion, and Helter Skelter. They were all still at The Probe(I think that was the name) back then. My fave band is and will always be the Cure. My passions are dancing and writing. I am a dancer of all trades(jazz, ballet, modern, fire, hoop, pole, go-go etc...) My crazy schedule is going to ease up for about a month so I would love to meet some cool people, hear about any "gothy" happenings and get my butt out dancing soon!

    Fine, I'll go next.
Some say I wear too much color to be goth, but I just consider myself to be old school (been there, done that) and am secure in wearing things other than black. Pink is not a color, pink is an ATTITUDE!!!
The only club I've found worth going to these days is Miss Kitty's and the occasional after party. I'm a 4th. year burner and have camped with Action Figures and then decided to camp small this past year. Never made it to Spike's, but the Absinth Bar became my fav watering hole. I play with fire, the hoop being my tool of choice. And I Shop for the movie/tv biz.
That about sums it up for now.

  • Hi, I'm new to the tribe. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an old school ghoul from the old daze - saw Xymox at Scream in '87, was a denizen of Coven 13, and Bar Sinister before the expansion. I've always been more goth in soul than appearance, but I'm a firm believer in "picket fence goths," of which I am one. We tend to believe that there are lots of scary, twisted, horrible things that happen on the other side of picket fences, behind closed doors, in the houses of suburbia, and that one doesn't always need to "dress goth" to have a truly scarred psyche. I name myself Exhibit A. I think that's what prompted me to become a school counselor, so that I could work with other suffering souls and possibly show them some sanity in the madness, at least for a few years in their lives. These days, you might catch me at Bar Sinister (although it's been a while) or an occasional fetish ball. I've been locked in the homework groove for the past 3 years, finishing grad school and other stuff. Once that's done, I will hopefully join the land of the living dead again. What do you all think of Miss Kitty's? I've yet to go.

    • Okie-dokie. My name is lee. I'm 39 and I live in LA. I work in the film business, and I'm in the BDSM scene here.

I've been to Miss Kitty's and Bar Sinister a few times, and the Fang Club (which I liked a lot), but I mainly hang out with the kinky folk at Threshold.

I don't really look Goth at all, BUT I definitely wear too much black! Does that count?

And speaking of Old School, I wore way too much black back in high school back in the eighties, and loved fantasy and all the gloom and doom stuff. Back then, I wasn't called a Goth; I was called a weirdo. ;-D

      Say goodnight Gracie!
